Both exams cover material that would be typically taught in an upper-level, interdisciplinary course at the undergraduate level. You must have knowledge and understanding of the major world religions as viewed in their social and historical context; be able to apply concepts drawn from sociology, psychology, and philosophy; as well as to compare and analyze religious beliefs and practices
The DSST/DANTES exam is multiple choice with a two-hour time limit, and the Excelsior exam is an essay format to be complete within three hours.
